Who We Are

Six Boxes® Programs and Consulting services are offerings of Binder Riha Associates, a management and performance consulting firm that has been serving Global 2000 fast growth companies and human services organizations for over a decade.

We develop and deliver practical, effective tools and methods based on behavior science and field research. We use plain language rather than jargon, develop flexible, easy-to-use tools, continuously refine what we do based on client feedback, and remain true to our roots in scientific research. Our combined experience in a dozen industries at multiple levels (both as executives and as external consultants) serves our clients well.
The Six Boxes Approach represents a culmination of nearly three decades of research and development about the variables that influence human performance and how busy people in fast-paced organizations can manage them to maximize results.

Dr. Carl Binder began his career as a graduate research fellow at Harvard University and was Associate Director of a human behavior research center for ten years before entering the corporate world. He has founded three consulting firms and is a thought leader in the International Association for Behavior Analysis (ABA) as well as in the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) where he was recently awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership. The American Psychological Association honored him in 2004 with its Fred S. Keller Award for contributions to education and training. Carl is a widely requested speaker and prolific author in fields that include human learning and performance, sales and marketing, customer service, educational policy, performance measurement, and behavioral research. He is a Certified Performance Technologist who has worked with scores of organizations in a dozen industries, as well as schools and other human services organizations.

Cynthia Riha has more than 25 years of business development, marketing and management experience in diverse industries, including transportation, hospitality, telecommunications, manufacturing/engineering, and aerospace. She has been a top sales producer, sales manager and executive, business development strategist, entrepreneur and business consultant. She served as VP of Marketing in a telecommunications startup, successfully coordinating the effort to raise venture capital and position the company in a rapidly changing marketplace. Her business acumen combined with excellent communication and analysis skills enable her to implement our research-based methods with the experience and perspective of a seasoned business executive.
