We offer public Institutes and Accelerators that

• introduce participants to our programs
• provide first steps on the path to certification, and
• offer opportunities for practitioners to accelerate their skills.
  

Six Boxes® Institutes

Two or three times per year, depending on interest, we offer public programs at our beautiful home-town venue, Islandwood on Bainbridge Island, Washington, near Seattle.  In the future, we might also offer Six Boxes Institutes before or after national or international conferences (e.g., ISPI) for attendees at those conferences who would like to dive more deeply into The Six Boxes Approach.  If you have an interest in combining a Six Boxes Institute with one of the conferences that you attend annually, please let us know .

 Six Boxes Institutes generally include one or more of our programs for individuals who want to learn Six Boxes performance thinking, or for decision-makers considering whether to bring our programs into their organizations.  Introduction to Performance Thinking and Six Boxes® Management Development are the most likely to be offered in our Institutes. But with sufficient demand, we might include the two-day Six Boxes® Practitioner Program for those who want to learn more about how performance professionals can apply The Six Boxes Approach and can commit to follow-up web conference coaching sessions.

Institutes offer added value because they allow participants, in a beautiful retreat-like environment, to become more connected to the Performance Thinking Network, the growing body of individuals and organizations who use The Six Boxes Approach.  At meals, during informal “fireside chats,” and at other times during the several days, participants form or strengthen professional friendships and, frankly, have a really good time together.  Check out our blog entries from the 2010 Summer Six Boxes® Institute to get a sense of that informal aspect of our Institutes.

Six Boxes® Accelerators

We have adopted the term Accelerator to refer to programs that afford time for focused practice using Six Boxes tools, communicating about performance, and going more deeply into both the conceptual and practical aspects of The Six Boxes Approach.

These 1-2 day events, which we have conducted publicly but could also be delivered for groups of Six Boxes Practitioners within a single organization, are intense, fun, and very rewarding.  They help move everyone – including the facilitators – to higher levels of  fluency in Six Boxes performance thinking and its component skills, which include talking about performance, and using Six Boxes tools to identify work outputs, document behavior, interview performers, brainstorm Six Boxes behavior influences, and analyze complex human performance. The Accelerator program is also a great ramp up towards certification.
